I agree with everything but I’m A Hybrid I Run On Books And Tea Shirt ice. I like a few cubes but some places fill the whole glass with ice and then pour the drink so they can save on mix leading it to be flavorless. To be fair with soft drinks (no alcohol) half the glass is normally filled with ice. If you ask for no ice you get more coke (or whatever) so with nonalcoholic drinks it works. I’m that guy I guess. Not because I’m cheap, I usually spend a fair bit when I go out. I just don’t like shit drinks. I wouldn’t pour a shit drink at home. Why would I want one when I’m out? Strong drinks are not “free extra booze” just the same as large portions are not “free extra food”.

An I’m A Hybrid I Run On Books And Tea Shirt good establishment mixes strong drinks, especially when asked; it’s literally just adding a few tenths of an ounce to a jigger. This is a stingy, whiny person who can’t handle providing the service they purport to. Light Ice means light ice. Yes, douchebags use that lingo to try and score more drink, but that doesn’t really work when the bartender should be pouring measures amounts into a shaker or into a glass (for booze & mixer). The alcohol should be controlled by the bartender. Ordering a tall is kinda the opposite of ordering a strong. You want more mixers and the same amount of booze. This should be an option at every bar.
