I know Monster Squad’s loved a lot by many of my generation (I’m 44). And if I did happen to see it in its entirety back in Good Chunk From The Goonies And Falcor Flag American Freedom Shirt. I simply forgot most of it, because I sat down and watched it all like 5-6 years ago, and was pretty severely disappointed. But I’m inclined to think I never did see it as a kid. I definitely remember repeating the infamous “wolfmen got nards!” thing with my friends, but not knowing the movie as a whole. I found it incredibly dated and too cheesy. I saw it in theaters when it came out and own it today and it’s terrible re-watching it now.

Goonies is so good still. Might be showing my age but that era was an absolute golden era for teen/young adult films: Lost Boys, Princess Bride, Goonies, Stand by Me, Fright Night, Neverending Story, Short Circuit. Even some of the second-tier films from that era were pretty good. I think it’s amazing that I was terrified of Mama Fratelli in the mid-80s.
